LCT 840 / LCT 940
Two Mics in One - Versatility at its Best.
As the flagship of our Authentica Series, the LCT 940
(USD 1499 *) sets new standards in sonic achievement, flexibility and control. Mics with both tube and solid-state signal paths are rare; but only the LCT 940 can blend vintage tube warmth with the detailed character of FET-technology (as found in our LCT 640 (USD 799 *) in any ratio. The separate power supply offers remote control over its nine polar patterns, three levels of attenuation and three switchable low-cut frequencies, making the LCT 940 the recordists’ all-purpose tool. "As a drummer and a mic sales guy I have to rant about a recording I just did. 6pc drum set with (2) LCT340 for overheads (stereo) and a 640REX kick mic in a 22' kick with Remo Powerstroke 4 heads. Result= UNREAL! REALLY impressed! The kick mic was sick. I have used 98% of the kick mics on the market and this was sick. I used a blend of the dynamic (80%) and 20% condenser. Punch with attack with minimal EQ'ing. The overheads were clean with zero noise. I rolled off the low end at 40Hz. The snare popped out of the mic just great. I'm really, really impressed with the Lewitt line. The 640REX is THE kick mic!
