October 2012       Warwick Bass of the Month - The "Cat Bass"       The Warwick Custom Shop can do almost anything you want. Would you like a bass showing your beloved pet on the body? No problem! Warwick designed a Streamer LX bass for a Japanese customer with an elaborate airbrush of his cat on the front, with a translucent white high-polish finish. The "Cat Bass" features a Maple fingerboard with rounded corners at the end, a French Flamed Ash body and matching headstock, as well as special pot placement and electronic wiring. Read more about the history of Warwick.       Environment -  CITES       Brazilian Rosewood (botanical name: ‘Dalbergia nigra’) is one of the most precious and valuable woods on the entire planet, often referred to as “The Black Gold of Brazil”. Unfortunately, the beautiful, one-of-a-kind wood species is on the brink of extinction, as it has been ruthlessly overexploited for centuries. In order to keep it from being lost forever, Brazilian Rosewood has been put on the endangered species list in 1992. The only way to obtain genuine Brazilian Rosewood is using old stock with accompanying CITES documents. Thanks to his accomplished, often highly energetic playing style and his stylistic versatility, Wolfgang became a role model of many bass players in the funk and fusion scene. After being a part of the first Warwick Bass Camp as an instructor, Wolfgang Schmid chose to endorse Warwick amps. As of now, he uses a WA 600 head and a WCA 410 bass cabinet on stage.
