| Warwick Bass of the Month - Thumb NT Buckeye Burl | |
|
|
| The final "Bass of the Month" in 2012 is this beautiful Thumb NT Custom Shop bass. The body is made of Buckeye Burl, which is the burl of "horse" or also called "wild" chestnut. The characteristic bluish black coloring that distinguishes this Buckeye Burl top derives from bacteria that changes the color of the wood after felling. After cutting and as early as the drying stage, this process stops, so that only certain parts, and not the entire piece the wood, change color. The fingerboard of this bass is made of another special exotic wood: Snakewood, which is one of the strongest woods in the world. Find out more about the specialties of this beautiful bass here! | |
